One of two camping fields, the North Field is 3acres in size and is surrounded by woodland. There are 7 altar fires available, and this site can be used for both camping and outdoor opportunities.
South Field
The South Field has 4 altar fires and has its own water supply. This area is particularly suited to “back to nature” camping.
The Lodge - NEW for 2010 season.
“THE LODGE” is the replacement building for the old single room “Dons Den” 16 bunk accommodation.
“THE LODGE” can now accommodate 20 people in 5 separate bunk rooms with 4 bunks in each PLUS a leaders / disabled room for 2 persons. It is fully insulated and built to the latest specifications of safety.
There is a fully compliant disabled toilet which doubles up as a leader’s facility, and a separate unisex toilet. There is a large activity room with stacking tables & chairs PLUS a covered balcony outside also for activities. There is outside storage for dirty boots/shoes and pegs to hang wet gear on.
Altar fire places
The altar fires are fixed and have an approx. area each of 1 sq. metre. Water and wood are situated not far from any of the fires and most have a rustic table for food preparation.
The Field Kitchen "New for Autumn 2006"
This is situated in the woodland next to the North Field. It has currently been through a complete refit to provide better and more modern equipment. This will provide a central catering facility for campers using the North Field or Dons Den, Its amenities include a six ring gas cooker, fridge’s, freezer, sinks ( both inside and outside the kitchen) with hot water, and food preparation areas in stainless steel. The Campfire Circle
This is a natural amphitheatre, nestling in the centre of the wooded area. It can be used for traditional Campfires by negotiation between groups using the site. Often, groups join together for communal Campfires.
Wood for burning is in short supply so please make arrangements to replace what you burn.
St Peters in the Pines
St Peters is an open-air consecrated church for formal or informal worship, or simply for meditation.
Its use is by negotiation with other groups using the site.
