Tree Planting

The campsite goes back to mid 1920's and some of the trees planted then need to be replaced to give the woodland cover the site is famed for.

The below video shows the on-going work provided by wardens, helpers, young scouts and others that is needed to keep Ullesthorpe campsite looking at its best planting trees provided free with special thanks from the Woodland Trust.

The project also demonstrated how important the trees & hedgerows are to the site and to teach the younger members the art of planting and maintaining them.

Ullesthorpe Campsite comprises 8 acres of woodland and is situated in rural Leicestershire which is in the centre of the UK.

The site is managed by South Leicestershire District Scout Council, and aims to provide camping and pack holiday facilities for Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides and Brownies and is also available for other youth groups.

Due to recent improvements to our facilities, we are now more able to cater for those with physical disabilities.
